LFS ch6 temporary tools stage. Installed straight into $LFS/usr so later ch6 tools (and eventually the chroot) can use it; not shipped as an end-user package (ch8 doesn't rebuild m4, but it's part of the disposable temp toolset, not final-system output we package).

Not in BLFS's own list -- discovered as a real build-time need when mesa's meson.build required Python's mako module (code generation for shader/dispatch tables) and failed with a misleading 'Python >= 3.10 not found' error even though python3.14 was already present. Built via the same pip3 wheel + install --root= pattern as flit-core/packaging/wheel/setuptools.

LFS ch8. --with-browser/--with-vgrind/--with-grap point at lynx/vgrind/grap, none of which we've built -- harmless per the book (man-db degrades gracefully without them, just can't use those optional features).

LFS ch8, first package in the real (non-alphabetical) build order -- see CLAUDE.md. No configure/make, just a make install variant.

MATE window manager. GTK3 build. libgtop for the workspace/resource bits.

MATE build macros / mate-autogen. First in the MATE stack.

MATE Control Center 1.28 -- the full settings hub (Appearance/Fonts, Keyboard, Mouse, Windows, Default Applications, etc.). Upstream configure hard-requires udisks2 (used by exactly ONE file, capplets/system-info/mate-system-info.c, to sum non-removable drive sizes for the About dialog). LinuxDoors has no udisks2 and building it needs a libgudev+libatasmart+libbytesize+libblockdev chain (libblockdev's part plugin needs either libparted or libfdisk, neither present -- .101's util-linux was built --disable-libfdisk). Rather than that whole chain for one cosmetic disk-size line, build.sh patches udisks out: drops 'udisks2' from COMMON_MODULES + redirects the standalone PKG_CHECK_MODULES(UDISKS) to glib-2.0 in the *generated* configure (no autoreconf -- the tarball ships no m4/gtk-doc.m4), and rewrites get_primary_disk_size() to use statvfs("/") instead of the UDisks client. Every other capplet is unaffected. ship_in_iso:false -- optional add alongside the rest of the MATE set.

Not in BLFS (MATE isn't part of the core BLFS book) -- real upstream from pub.mate-desktop.org/releases, the project's own official release server, sha256 verified against upstream's own published .sha256sum file (not just self-computed). Provides libmate-desktop (mate-desktop-2.0), a hard dependency of pluma (see packages/pluma) -- pulled in per explicit user request to install pluma as a real end-to-end verification case for the new package-manager/source-build feature. Real dependency chain confirmed via configure.ac: gdk-pixbuf-2.0/gtk+-3.0/glib-2.0/gio-2.0/iso-codes (all already built) plus dconf (new, see packages/dconf) and startup-notification (already built, matched automatically since its meson option defaults to 'auto'). Default meson options already lean (gtk-doc=false, introspection=false) -- no extra flags needed.

MATE default icon theme (data). Ships pre-generated icon-name mapping.

freedesktop.org menu spec impl for MATE. Python bindings not built.
